CASE-HARDENING STEEL

Commonly used to enrich the surface carbon content of steel that case hardening provides. This is intended to produce a high-hardness, wear-resistant surface supported by a tenacious core.

CHARACTERISTICS

Used in medium cross-sections requiring mid-range hardenability, mechanical resistance and shock resistance.

APPLICATIONS

Worm screws and steering sectors, camshafts, secondary shafts, gears for trucks, crossheads, crowns, pinions, and crankshafts. Worms and steering sectors, camshafts, driveshafts, truck gears, crossheads, crowns, pinions and crankshafts. Also used to manufacture case-hardened bearings .
